Cooperation between Dutch, Belarusian and Russian companies, active in the IT/Software development sector, highlighted real opportunities for further strengthening their relationships. This is the overall outcome of the 1st trilateral IT matchmaking event organized at the World Trade Center in The Hague on Friday the 23rd of November.

More than 40 companies participated in this 1st trilateral IT matchmaking event. Half of the present companies came from Russia and Belarus, including some of the world’s most renowned organizations such as Russian search engine giant Yandex and software developer Artezio. The event was organized by the WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA) and the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (NCH) in cooperation with RUSSOFT, the Belarusian Embassy in The Hague and the Belarus Hi Tech Park.

Russia and Belarus are countries well known for their IT expertise and software development skills. Due to their traditional focus on mathematics and science programs, these countries provide a large resource of highly skilled IT and software development professionals. With a strong focus on providing IT outsourcing services, mainly for CIS countries, Eastern Europe and the United States, they are now looking to increase their market share in Western Europe. Experience shows that this is most effectively achieved through partners, distributors or being physically present.

According to Mr. Patrick Bos, International Business Advisor of the WFIA: "During this event WFIA, Ministry of Economic Affairs and ICT Office highlighted the opportunities and need for cooperation between Russian and Belarusian IT & Software companies. A good cooperation between the Netherlands, Russia and Belarus can be very beneficial for all countries and companies, and in the coming year such opportunities will be further investigated and taken advantage of."

"The seminar in The Hague bodes well for a very good start to 2013 – the Year of Russia in the Netherlands and the Year of Netherlands in Russia. The aim of RUSSOFT is to use such events to provide Dutch businesses with practical and reliable information about every advantage being offered by Russian IT-companies to their respective customers in the European Union, especially as compared to other international IT-outsourcing service providers. We take advantage to talk about our high quality services, about the traditionally high level of professionalism of Russian developers and about cultural closeness of engineers from Russia and from Europe. In practice that means that under the present circumstances, where there is a shortage of approximately 40.000 developers in the Netherlands, our outsourcing service providers have important chances to strongly enlarge our presence in the Netherlands" this according to Mr. Pavel Adylin, Chairman of the Board of RUSSOFT, located in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Mr. Alexander Martinkevich, Deputy Director of Hi Tech Park located in Minsk, Belarus, confirmed: "During the matchmaking our companies had the opportunity to meet and to exchange their opinions with Dutch companies and I believe that in the future it will help both parties to realize their full potential of cooperation."
