The actual growth of Information & Communication Technologies in 2004 hit 30%, 4 times exceeding Russia’s general economy growth trends, said Boris Antonyuk, Deputy IT Minister, according to ITAR-TASS.
He mentioned that ICT share accounts for 4.7% of total GNP, which approaches this factor of the countries with well-established economy. However, Antonyuk commented, the absolute figure of the ITC market volume of RUR 795.6 bln (approx. EUR 22.67 bln) remains quite moderate.
