Apr 11, 2005
MOSCOW, April 8 (RIA Novosti) - More than 150 Russian companies plan to attend the Hanover 2005 international industrial fair.
Russian Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, who also chairs the organizing committee for the Russian exposition at the Hanover fair, noted that more than 200 Russian companies had applied to participate.
"We chose 154 companies. Their applications show that they are ready to represent Russia on the hi-tech market," he said.
According to Khristenko, the Russian pavilion plans to display various state-of-the-art technologies. Russia prioritizes the export potential of its enterprises.
"We intend to display the national aircraft industry's achievements. Its united stance will represent the incipient consolidated aircraft corporation. Sukhoi will display its RRJ (Russian Regional Jet) model. The RRJ is being developed on a par with European companies. Meanwhile Irkut will show off its Beriyev Be-200 flying boat," Khristenko said, adding that there is nothing else like it on the market.
Russia will display its KAMAZ trucks.
"I would like to emphasize the fact that the KAMAZ-4911 sports-truck version, which came in first at the January 2005 Paris - Dakar rally, will also be shown in Hanover," Khristenko said.
Khristenko said the Rosoboronexport state-run enterprise would unveil defense and civilian products.
"The list of our most interesting exhibits includes the Itil petroleum tanker, the Rossiyanka luxury yacht and the Vega passenger ship," he said. "We will also offer hi-tech products like laser cutters, a mobile robot production complex and industrial, medical and service-sector software packages," Khristenko said.
