Russian's two largest associations dedicated to furthering the country's penetration of the world software export market are now in the process of merging. The merger, combining the resources of Russoft and Fort-Ross, is a strategic move aimed at strengthening Russia's ability to represent itself on pivotal industry-wide issues with one unified voice.

Russoft, a national software development association was founded in 2001 and for over three years has achieved significant results in promoting Russia's software export capabilities and largely untapped intellectual potential.

Fort-Ross, a consortium uniting Russian companies with a total revenue of over $90 million USD, has an impressive track record of organizing large summits, conferences, exhibitions, and other events where Russian software development vendors and US and European companies have the opportunity to meet.

The merger of Russoft and Fort-Ross forms a strategic, united Russian software outsourcing association that will consolidate more than 70 companies with total revenue of more than $150 million USD. The merger will take three months to complete. Soon after the merger is concluded the newly formed association will announce its strategy and future plans.

LUXOFT CEO, Dmitry Loschinin, a Russoft board member, led the drive to merge the two influential groups. The merger achieves another important step in the maturation of the Russian software outsourcing market. "We endeavor to promote Russia in a way that demonstrates our ability to compete with India, China, and all others on a global scale. Only a united and coordinated effort will help us reach the common goal of significantly aiding the Russian economy by substantially increasing software export", remarked Dmitry Loschinin.
