In the Context of the Current Election Campaign Outsourcing of Software Development and Business Processes to Foreign Countries has Become a Hot Issue in the USA

In a recent CNN Lou Dobbs' prime-time show Russia has been named as, quote, "a new outsourcing giant" that is likely to catch up with the India's estimated $10 bln in software exports within the next five years. To represent Russia's rise in this industry LUXOFT, member of the IBS Group, was selected by CNN journalists as the most successful example of entrepreneurial spirit, western business practices, high quality standards and market segment leadership. Although the debate over offshoring does not give any definite answer concerning its greater Good for the American nation, it is obvious that both the protectionists and those who believe outsourcing actually sustains American jobs, arrive at the idea that Russia's software and, more recently, outsourcing companies are able to take on the best in the world.
Ryan Chilcote, the CNN correspondent in Moscow, reports on LUXOFT, which in just four years in the outsourcing market has designed business software for the likes of world's leading multinationals. Among the reasons for the company's success are not only the high quality and competitive costs of their services but also the devotion of LUXOFT's programmers to work like their Western corporate counterparts.
Says Ryan Chilcote: "Bridging the communication gap is done using new, Western approaches. LUXOFT employees are practicing teamwork, a leadership program ...; LUXOFT has inherited some of that scientific culture characterized by innovation and security. Some of Russia's brightest minds are quietly programming their way into jobs outsourced from the United States and Western Europe."
It is not coincidental that LUXOFT was chosen by CNN to represent the most successful Russian IT firms: in the past four years the company has been showing a 100% sustainable growth in both personnel and revenue. LUXOFT has offices and development centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Dubna, Omsk, N. Novgorod as well as offices in the USA and UK. The company is a potent contributor to the development of the first Russian techno park in Dubna.
