India Facing Infrastructure Impediments - Forrester

A report by Forrester suggests that India may not be able to continue its growth in IT and BPO services unless its infrastructure, including roads and power, is improved.

A report by Forrester suggests that India may not be able to continue its growth in IT and BPO services unless its infrastructure, including roads and power, is improved.

The report states that with India continuing to grow significantly, North American, Western European, and Asia Pacific companies are increasing their dependence on Indian services. However, the country still faces a significant challenge in terms of its infrastructure, including roads, airports, and power generation, which can barely support the current market.

The report adds that without significant infrastructure investment from the government or the IT and BPO industries, India would face difficulties in sustaining its current growth.

The firm also remarks that as foreign companies embark on Indian outsourcing projects or increase their dependence on Indian IT service providers, they need to evaluate the effect that the infrastructure inadequacies may have on their projects or vendors.
