Apr 05, 2013
The Rusnano InfraFund, a special fund set up by Rusnano, Russia’s nanotech giant, to finance infrastructure and training programs in Russia, has approved a $7.3m loan for the new Dubna Nanotech Center some 130km north of Moscow, news agency RIA Novosti reports citing a source in the InfraFund.
The loan will be reportedly spent on purchases of equipment for the new center.
The InfraFund has also selected, on a tender basis, cities across Russia to host a total of 12 such nanotech centers. The list includes Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Dubna, Zelenograd, Saransk and Stavropol. In Siberia, their nanotech center will be located on two sites in Novosibirsk and Tomsk.
Rusnano’s nanotech center network is being created to support regional ecosystems for commercialization of scientific and R&D results. Their key feature will be bringing together under one roof engineering equipment and capacity and competency to incubate small innovation companies. The centers are expected to offer SMEs marketing, managerial, information and other support.
