Novosibirsk to open training Resource Center for microelectronics and IT

An agreement has been reached in Novosibirsk over the creation of this Siberian city’s own Resource Center to train specialists and fill expert positions in regional microelectronics and IT. The Center will open on the premises of the Novosibirsk Technical School of Electronics and Computing, Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reports citing a source in the local Ministry of Labor.

The regional Industry Council for IT Cadre Training is reported to have been a party in the agreement. The Council now includes 25 legal entities operating in local microelectronics and IT.

The Council members are expected to take active part of in developing training curricula and syllabi, coaching students at the new Center, offer the students on-the-job training opportunities as they study, and also offer them employment upon graduation.

The Novosibirsk region reportedly considers the IT industry "promising" and believes IT specialists will be always in demand in the local labor market.

At the moment, there are 17 Resource Centers in the Novosibirsk region in a range of economic sectors, ITAR-TASS reports.
