MOSCOW, December 28 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's information and communications technology market will reach $36.4 billion in 2005, a 30% growth on last year's $27.7 billion, the Russian IT Minister said Wednesday.
Leonid Reiman said the Russian IT sector's year-end revenues were expected at $24.64 billion, with more than half of the amount ($12.84 billion) coming from public services (a 31% growth year-on-year).
He attributed the revenue growth to the heavy investment in the sector's main assets, with $3.1 billion put in by domestic investors and another $2.6 billion contributed by foreigners.
By year's end, Russia will have at least 120 million mobile phone subscribers (a 70% increase year-on-year) and 22 million Internet users, the minister said.
