Jan 16, 2006
In the course of 2005 the Russian Federation has finally won recognition as the most promising market in Eastern Europe. With its striking economical performance, strong budgetary and current account surpluses, the country has achieved an unprecedented macroeconomic stability.
Russia has also dramatically improved its financial standing and came to be internationally regarded as an attractive investment environment. The rising domestic and international business activity and investor confidence are further backed up by the country's international credit rating upgrade in 2005: January, August and October have seen Standard and Poor's, Fitch and Moody's (respectively) award Russia an upgraded investment rating. In its annual foreign direct investment rating of 2005, A.T.Kearney has moved Russia from the 11th to the 6th position in the index of the most attractive countries for investment.
This issue of Reksoft Russian IT Quarterly brings together articles that sum up on the achievements of the Russian IT industry in the past year and presents forecasts for the promising year of 2006.
