In December, 2001 the Joint IEEE Computer Society/ACM Task Force has released the next version of the document with guidelines on teaching computer science "Computing Curricula 2001: Computer Science" (CC2001)

The Software Engineering Chair of St. Petersburg State University already had a successful experience of usage of the previous version of this document, Computing Curricula 1991. For instance, Computing Curricula 1991 was successfully used in order to justify the creation of Software Engineering Chair. The Chair also used Computing Curricula 1991 for creating and editing the curriculums.

Therefore it was decided to introduce this standard to Russian academic community, and right after the publication of CC2001 final edition the lectures of the Chair started translating it into Russian. This project was carried out by Software Engineering Chair together with Ukrainian Corporation ISD and American Corporation eLine Software.

LANIT-TERCOM closely cooperates with Software Engineering Chair of St.-Petersburg State University, and one of the results of this cooperation was the sponsorship of ACM/IEEE standard translation.

The book was published in June, 2002 in publishing house of the St.-Petersburg State University. You can download the complete electronic version of the book from the site of Software Engineering Chair.
