Microsoft Russia To become a Member of RUSSOFT Association

Microsoft Russia has become a full member of RUSSOFT Association. The decision was taken by RUSSOFT Board of directors during its regular meeting. The admission was preceded by long discussion of mutual interests and cooperation prospects with the employees of different departments of the company in Russia.
As RUSSOFT president Valentin Makarov said "Microsoft participation in RUSSOFT activities will allow us to attract experience and resources of a largest IT market player to cooperative maintenance of manpower training system and implementation of modern standards of development process management, to development of innovative process in RUSSOFT member-companies and to the enhancement of competitive advantages of the whole community of software developing companies".
As part of RUSSOFT Association Microsoft Russia first of all intends to favor the improvement of innovation potential of RUSSOFT member-companies and Russian software industry on the whole. Therefore the cooperation with SW developers’ associations is the core and extremely important activity.
Specifically Microsoft Russia considers box product development inside of RUSSOFT very important line of cooperation and is going to give support as to the companies developing end products on Microsoft platform, so to the companies developing custom solutions but whishing to put out their rough parts into separate end product division.
The support of innovative activities will be given as consulting, training and marketing services to the promising companies in order to help them approach the global market.
RUSSOFT and Microsoft are also eager to cooperate in the field of promotion of civilized practices of licensed software usage and fighting piracy within the framework of Russian informational ecosystem.
Microsoft is not the first large overseas company to join RUSSOFT Association in recent years. The first such company was Intel rep office, then the representative offices of Hewlett Packard and Sun Microsystems. Specific feature of Microsoft membership is that its representatives intend to implement together with RUSSOFT a whole program of contribution to the development of commercialization of Russian software development industry.
