Russia will create a Federal agency for export of high technologies, the President’s chief of staff Sergei Naryshkin said on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Russia will create a Federal agency for export of high technologies, the President’s chief of staff Sergei Naryshkin said on Tuesday, October 10th.

The state official stressed that the "staff of the new federal agency will be formed from specialists of the IT and Communications Ministry".

He specified: "Hi-tech products, including software and nanotechnologies has to have relevant preferences in order to be promoted on the foreign markets. Primarily this means optimization of the value-added tax."

Naryshkin was speaking at the opening of the All-Russian Venture Forum, which is taking place in St. Petersburg, under sponsorship from the Russian IT and Communications Ministry. He said that this is "Russia’s largest professional forum, which is discussing the prospects for development of innovative sector of the Russian economy and the market of venture and direct investments". Itar-Tass reported that more than a hundred Russian companies expect to attract financing from 20 investors that are taking part in forum’s work.
