Some participants commented on the event:
Harris Miller, President World IT&Service Alliance (WITSA), President American IT Association:
In a global economy, establishing inter-industry relationships, sharing best practices and addressing ways to eliminate trade barriers are critical. Conferences such as the RUSSOFT Association's ROSS 2005 are indispensable venues for such important collaboration.
Tomas Kaerner, Swedish Trade Council:
STCs main task is to help, support and develop Swedish export worldwide. We have about 40 offices around the world and our Russian office is the biggest in Europe. This is a good and natural, due to the potential of the Russian market for the Swedish industry. Russia is our absolute biggest adjutant market with a huge of potential in many different industries.
After a success full IT/telecom event STC organized 2003 "Swedish Business Boat" we saw the positive response and interest from the Swedish companies in the field of IT/telecom market, potential on the Russian market. Also the rapidly growing IT/Telecom sector in Russia shows very positive trends and potential.
We are aiming on SME companies. Companies who already working in Russia as well new companies who are interested and want to come in to the Russian market. In addition to the companies we got a very positive response from different authorities like VINNOVA who will be represented at our event on the TOP management level as well support from our foreign ministry.
Arcady Dobkin, President Epam Systems, recognized in The 2004 CRN Top 25 Executives:
I look forward to ROSS 2005 as it is today the most important venue for IT service providers from the former Soviet Union region and other Eastern European countries, for potential customers, industry analysts and IT press.
Over the last several years the Summit (thanks to the dedicated efforts of Fort-Ross) proved to be a reality check point which allows potential clients to accurately evaluate the progress the IT service providers achieved during the year and at the same time for the regional vendors to sense the growing global interest from EU and US corporate worlds in the services coming from Eastern Europe.
Yuri Aguiar, Senior Partner, Chief Technology Officer, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York:
In this new era of fast paced International Business, IT systems have reached a high level of sophistication and maturity. While this is great for Business Technologists, there seems to be a lack of talent to be able to deliver these complex platforms. Russian software professionals being highly talented, pose as a major contender for a large share of the outsourcing requirements of many companies around the world
Maxim A. Voltchenko, Duane Morris LLP:
My reason to participate in the summit for the third time is to help Russian software companies succeed in the West and especially in the largest world economy: United States. I would like to see Russia as a major IT and software player in the global economy. I realize my help as an intellectual
property and business lawyer is somewhat limited. Hopefully, though, my tutorial will address some of legal concerns in the industry. Besides, it is also fun to network and be around people that I respect and simply enjoy being around, on a personal level.
