Russia's IT market grew by 20.2 percent last year

Russia's IT market grew by 20.2 percent last year, to RUR 308.3 billion, the Ministry for Information Technologies and Communications of Russia reported. According to preliminary information, the sector of communications technologies increased by 27.8 percent, at RUR 1.018 trillion. Revenues from electronic communications totaled RUR 668 billion, 32 percent more than in the previous year. Revenues from postal services rose by 22.4 percent, to RUR 42 billion. Penetration of fixed-line telephone services increased by 1.1 percent to 29.5 telephones per 100 people.
