An Inauguration of the Center of Software Products Development "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk" has been held in Zheleznogorsk

Opening the office of the company has become a very significant milestone that marks a completion of the entire preparatory activity. The office has been re-equipped, hardware and software has been purchased and installed. At the same time, the thorough process of personnel recruiting and its integral re-training was taking place as well.
The opening of the Center was attended by the following public persons: the mayor of Zheleznogorsk Andrey Katargin, representatives of local industrial enterprises, the director of the Fund of Russian-American Economical Cooperation (FRAEC) Carol Vippermann, the representative of US Department of Energy George Pomeroy, the representative of Batelle Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Ron Nesse, co-founders of the Center - Novosoft and the fund "International Development Center - Zheleznogorsk".
Now, the new company is working on its first projects - pre-contract negotiations are being conducted with several clients. Projects will be performed by the "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk" team with the support from Novosoft.
In 2001, Novosoft won the tender announced by the International center for development of Zheleznogorsk (ICD) and the governing body of the program "Nuclear Cities Initiatives" (NCI). This program has been elaborated by the US Department of Energy together with the fund of Russian-American Economical Cooperation. In the framework of the project "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk", the commercial company has been established. The company performs software development for Russian and international customers. The US Department of Energy and PNNL Laboratory provide the financial support on initial stages of the project's development. The role that Novosoft plays in the project is sharing its know-how on how this type of business can be organized and the possibility to use its trademark. The project is supported by the municipal administration.
