RBC, 10.03.2005, Moscow 12:58:14. The Russian government is ready for most decisive efforts to support hi-tech businesses and innovations in Russia, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has declared at today's Cabinet meeting.

Today, the government is discussing a bill on economic zones with special status. Fradkov noted in connection with this that the Cabinet had been given an ambitious task to introduce a development strategy based on innovations for Russia's economy. "We are developing efficient instruments for this," the Prime Minister said. He added that economic zones with special status "should become an incubator for new ideas and hi-tech industries" in Russia. The bill on economic zones with special status was prepared by the economic development and trade ministry.
