In April, Netherlands-Russia Business Meet 2013 was held in Amsterdam. It was dated to Vladimir Putin’s visit and gathered a wide range of IT business representatives from Russia and Holland. In the Netherlands, 2013 is declared as a year of Russia, and local authorities show keen interest in interaction at all levels, including collaboration with the Russian IT business.
The West Holland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA) notes that cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands in the field of IT can bring a noticeable incentive to development of economy in both countries. Grounds for expansion of this cooperation are being created on business meetings organized by the Agency and NP RUSSOFT.
RUSSOFT actively cooperates with WFIA since 2012. Since 2012, three similar events where members of association were present had already taken place. Each of these events inevitably received positive feedback from participants of both parties, and some contacts gave live to joint projects. Perspectives of the bilateral business relations are great; it can be assumed by an increasing number of Dutch companies interested in IT outsourcing in Russia (many of these companies still collaborate with India) and positive feedback from Russian companies, who have clients in Great Britain, Germany, the Scandinavian countries, France, Switzerland, but not in Holland.
"The WFIA study shows that more and more companies from Holland start using services of the Russian IT industry." – says Patrick Bos, Russian Area Director in West Holland Foreign Investment Agency. "We intend to use this year of bilateral relations to strengthen the positive tendency."
Pavel Adylin, Chairman of the Board in RUSSOFT, Chief Executive in Artezio, Head of the RUSSOFT Delegation comments on the meeting: "The event was very well organized by the receiving party. In addition to the official part and industry round tables, participants could meet and communicate with each other to make new personal contacts. From the RUSSOFT part, both service companies and software developers participated in Netherlands-Russia Business Meet 2013. Within the event, the main goal of RUSSOFT was to use the year of Russia in the Netherlands to present all benefits offered by Russian IT companies to their customers in the European Union (in comparison with other players in the international market of outsourcing) to Dutch business representatives. First of all, the above implies a higher quality of services, skills required to manage complex distributed projects, a traditionally high professional level of Russian programmers and their ability to solve non-standard tasks and offer innovations, as well as cultural kinship and close location. Unfortunately, at present, not many Russian software developers have reached success in the Dutch market, while the export of services from India to the Netherlands exceeds 1 billion dollars and the deficit of qualified IT personnel constantly increases. Thus, we have plenty of tasks to work on."
Vladimir Litoshenko, Development Director in First Line Software: "As can be judged by the first results of successful cooperation between Dutch and Russian IT companies presented at the conference, the Dutch business is ready to collaborate with Russia as a partner in IT projects. First Line Software is now preparing first projects for the Dutch clients and notices good perspectives in this region. Successful cooperation is promoted by the geographical location: a flight takes three hours and the time difference is only two hour. In our terms it is called ‘near-shoring’ – a client gets almost a local development team."
"On the Russian-Dutch business forum, we managed to discuss a number of important issues concerning businesses in Holland, communicate with colleagues from Holland and study opportunities for opening a business in this country", says Alexander Dyachkov, Sales Support Manager in ICL KPO. "We are grateful to West Holland Foreign Investment Agency, and to Patrick Bos, in particular, for assistance in organization of meetings with Dutch companies."
"Netherlands-Russia Business Meet is an unprecedented event that is a unique opportunity for us to get an idea of the Dutch market of information technologies." According to Przemek Berendt, Vice President for Global Marketing in Luxoft: "The potential and innovations of the Dutch IT landscape made a strong impression on the participants from Luxoft."
Vladimir Ufnarovsky, Director General of Computer Vision Systems LLC: "A number of events planned within the year of Russian-Dutch cooperation were very effective for Russian IT companies. The meetings were very well organized and properly structured by sections, which allowed participants from Russia to introduce target-oriented presentations and reports and hold successful negotiations with representatives of the Dutch business. As a result of the event in Hague, Computer Vision Systems become partners with the Dutch company Emeago and begun selling their innovative product in the European market. Such events organized with the support of the Governments of two countries, give a real chance to Russian science-intensive projects to enter the IT market of Europe and strengthen economic relations between Russia and the Netherlands."
