Star Software Takes Part In the First Russian CIO Summit

Jan 05, 2004
Moscow, December 17, 2003

Star Software Corporation took part in the first Russian CIO Summit organized by Fort-Ross IT Services Consortium. The Summit, held in Moscow on December 16-17, brought together CEOs of leading Russian software outsourcing companies and representatives of international IT corporations, who discussed the latest tendencies in IT outsourcing to Russia.

Nick Puntikov, Board Member of The Russian National Software Association (RUSSOFT) and CEO of Star Software, moderated the panel discussion, "Offshore Software Outsourcing Model: Key Issues To Pay Attention To" that focused on the main criteria for selecting a software outsourcing provider. The panel composed of industry practitioners ready to share their views and ideas, provoked a fruitful and animated discussion.

Summing up the results of the Summit, Puntikov said: "This is one of the major events devoted to the Russian IT market, and I hope to see it become an annual forum. Even though starting new traditions is not easy, we cannot ignore that fact that Russian IT outsourcing industry is emerging as a new leader on a worldwide scale, and therefore the local CIO Summit was absolutely necessary. Making connections between the local software outsourcing companies is the best way to strengthen Russia's appeal to the Western buyers. I am very pleased with the participants' willingness to share experience and information, and their commitment to long-term collaboration".
