Russian-Japanese IT conference opens in St. Petersburg

A two-day Russian-Japanese conference devoted to the development of IT technologies and strengthening IT collaboration between the two countries opens in St. Petersburg. It was organized by the Russian Communications Ministry and the Japanese consortium Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc.

The following Russian bodies and companies will represent Russia at this conference: the Communications and Railroad Ministries, the Energy Ministry and the government staff, the State Duma and the Federation Council, energy giant RAO UES of Russia and Aeroflot airlines as well as leading Russian IT companies. Japan will be represented by the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry and the Foreign Trade and Industry Ministry, the embassy of Japan in Russia and such companies as Mitsui&Co. Ltd., Mitsubishi Corp., Tokyo Electric Power Company, Japan Airlines, NEC Corp., Fujitsu Ltd. and East Japan Railway Co.
