Optima automates business process management at British Petro Pharma International Ltd.
Feb 18, 2004
Petro Pharma is well-known in the western market as a leading polymer supplier and manufacturer of building materials.
The project involved development of a software system for management of such business processes as purchasing, warehouse accounting, goods delivery and transportation. Deployment of this system has made it possible to considerably boost staff performance, improve organization of interaction with business partners, optimize business processes and provide information support for executive decision-making.
Moreover, the automated system provides possibilities for automation of financial flows planning and management, settlement of accounts with suppliers and customers. The "PetroTrade" system is based on a modular structure. It integrates highly interactive subsystems "Purchase", "Warehouse", "Sales", "Finance", "Transportation", "Analytics" and others. This allows to provide information support to system users on all stages of business processes.
The "PetroTrade" system is endowed with a special built-in module, which generates analytical reports on the status of purchasing and sales, warehouse supplies, goods transportation, and settlement of accounts with contractors, based on the collected data. The "PetroTrade" software system is based on Microsoft.Net technologies, usage of which gives users and system owners such additional advantages as rapidity of performed operations, flexible adaptability to characteristic features of the hardware and software equipment employed at the working places, low system requirements, and a user-friendly interface.
System administration can be conducted remotely, though all the system maintenance procedures are executed on the central server, which can be accessed by users from working places through Internet and intranet networks.
During realization of the "PetroTrade" system development project, Optima's experts utilized cutting-edge information technologies and strictly adhered to software design and development methodological principles.
As Egor Mariaskin, Software Outsourcing Director of Optima, pointed out, "such complex projects substantially enrich our company's knowledge base, which can be successfully utilized later in development and implementation of automated systems not only for the petroleum industry and the building materials manufacture, but for other industries as well".
