The latest information about preparations for the Third Software Outsourcing Summit is announced. The dates 25th - 28th of June 2003 are marked in the calendar by all leaders of IT outsourcing and software development industry in Russia. Visit www.soft-outsourcing.com
Please find below facts of the Summit which could be of some interest for you:

Large international companies participating in the Summit are Siemens, Toshiba, Fujitsu, General Motors, Nokia, Borland, Intel, Sun Microsystems, Documentum, IFC/World Bank, TietoEnator. The large industry associations as BITKOM, LISA and world-known organizations as Quality Assurance Institute of India take part in the Summit.

All leading East-European software vendors participate in the Summit - companies from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary. Please see the catalogue of participants at the web site for more information.

Wide geography - 20 countries and 18 regions of Russian Federation are represented at the Summit.

World-known analytical agencies will present their vision on the role of Russia in the software development and IT outsourcing market in the world - Gartner, GIGA/Forrester, IDC.

Yankee Group will organize a special panel "Redefining the Role of IT & Software Development Outsourcing in the Global World"

The special round table will be devoted to the cultural difference in software outsourcing process (the concrete case study will be presented by Scandinavian players, TietoEnator and University of Oslo).

Ready software products and technologies will be shown at the panel and round tables of the Summit. You will hear about 16 Russian software products or solutions successfully sold and promoted at the international market

Several companies will do special presentations, press-conferences and networking events - Borland, Intel, eVelopers, Mercury Interactive, Speereo, ICT Connector Project, Forum Nokia.

Match-making part will cover half a day of the Summit. Over 50 tables and 25 exhibition stands will be used as the base for preliminary booked meetings. All Summit participants has access to the matchmaking software at the web site which allows to book and confirm meetings online. About 30 tables will be given to big companies-customers. All participants can book meetings with such companies and arrange meeting at theirs tables. The companies have also the possibility to reserve a table which they will use for meetings during the whole conference. The table will be marked with a name of the company. The materials about a company can be placed there.

Mass media coverage is the important part of the preparations for the Summit. 30 journalists from leading Russian IT and business magazines and newspapers will participate in the Summit as well as mass media representatives from US; Sweden, Finland, UK, Germany. The Press Center will be open all the time for press conferences, presentations, distribution of press releases etc. The special program for journalists is part of the Summit for the first time this year. It includes the following:
  • the fourth RUSSOFT "press club" meeting. During the press club meeting the RUSSOFT prize for journalists will be awarded. Founded this year, the annual prize will honor journalists writing on the themes: " Information technology - Software development - The offshore programming and outsourcing market in Russia and abroad";

  • presentation and press conference of the Nokia Forum;

  • press conference of the organizers of the summit with the participation of several VIP guests, including Eila Rummukainen, senior vice-president of TeliaSonera, Melissa Laird, vice-president of Intel Corporation, Berge Ayvazian, president of Yankee Group, Adrian Devitt, the head of the project of Agency FORFAS (Ireland) and Tor Stenstad, vice-president of the AC-RFC branch of General Motors;

  • presentation of the project "Russia ICT Connector" (financed by the International Financial Corporation and the Government of Finland);

  • press conference of the US-Russia Trade Chamber of New England and RUSSOFT, devoted to signing of an Agreement of Cooperation between RUSSOFT and four IT associations in New England;

  • press conferences of Russian companies over recent achievements in the sphere of QA: Telma - becoming the first CMM Level 5 certified service provider in Russia and Digital Design - first Russian software company awarded with the prize of the Russian Government.
Participants will experience the beauty of St Petersburg suburbs on the shore of Finnish Gulf and the opening of Jazz Festival in the heart of the City, at Peter-and-Paul Fortress.
