Novosibirsk, Russia - April 27, 2005 Within the Intel Developer Forum, CTGroup demonstrated how Russian companies can utilize mobile technologies to stimulate sales.
During the presentation "The Growing Digital World Drives Change" John Davies, Intel Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group, Director of Solutions Market Development Group, noted that mobile technologies open up great opportunities for the businesspeople working "in the fields ". Anytime-anywhere access to business applications stimulates timely and effective decision making and allows for reliable business transaction.
Together with Odyssee Productions CTGroup created sales force automation solution that allows quickly and securely access articles available on stock and take orders when on the tradefair or during the business meeting with the client. The order can be immediately transmitted through wireless communication channels to the office. The order processing time becomes substantially shorter – orders are shipped to the customers faster than before. As a result, business receives more orders, warehouse stocks are optimized, and customer satisfaction with the quality of service increases.

Before the eyes of 1000 IDF participants, mobile agent took the John Davies’s order that was transmitted through Wi-Fi channel to the office where it was processed and delivered to the stage at he end of the Mr. Davies’s speech. "Standard based Mobile technology of X-Scale based PDAs and Centrino Mobile Technology based notebook continues to drive usage models for mobile field workers," says John Davies, "Solutions which replace paper clipboards with automatic forms and work online or offline are required. A Service Oriented Architecture provides the environment of the continuous business challenges. CTGroup's solution fits this model."
The feedback from IDF participants ranged from the interest of implementing similar Mobile Ordering solution for retail and transportation industries to opinions that Russia is yet to be ready to utilize advantages of mobile technology.
