Although Swedish enterprises are still reluctant to practice software outsourcing outside Sweden, the forward-thinking Nordic companies are already engaged in outsourcing activities with nearshore and offshore IT vendors, securing not only cost savings but also a faster time to market and quick access to a wider resource pool, on demand.
Reksoft, with over five years of experience in the Nordics, and Systemering AB, a consultancy agency from Stockholm, offered a joint view on the outsourcing framework, describing how an outsourcing engagement evolves over the entire lifecycle, and which particular goals were to be considered and achieved at each phase. The framework indicated the sequence of decisions and pointed out the appropriate tools. Special attention was given to managing takeover of existing legacy applications.
Along with the speakers from Reksoft and Systemering AB, the Nordic clients of Reksoft were invited to give a talk on their experience with software outsourcing. The executives from Pharmadule Emtunga and one of the leading European apparel manufacturer spoke on the reasons for outsourcing their software projects to Russia and the benefits it brought to their enterprises.
