Project Title: Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
Deutsche Bank is a leading provider of financial solutions for private and business clients. We provide our clients with an all-round service extending from account-keeping and cash & securities investment advisory to asset management.
The Challenge
One of the world's largest banks needed a system to automate document management in its loan division. The largely paper-based document processing system the bank had been using become woefully inadequate in terms of performance, capacity, scalability, and securityThe Solution
EDMS, an electronic document management system, was created to store and process a vast number of client documents. EDMS was integrated into the already existing parent document management system as a main business support tool (loan management, risk management, etc.).Documentum was used as the platform for this solution because the bank had previously adopted it as its corporate standard for document management. The framework supplied by Documentum to enable the software to work via web services did not provide adequate performance while operating on the bank's enormous network. LUXOFT addressed this issue by creating a new web-enabling framework for Documentum. This new framework eliminated all performance problems.
LUXOFT's EDMS runs on the Documentum platform and uses web-services to integrate applications across the company's wide area network. This architecture not only allows seamless integration with the parent system but also enables efficient storage, processing and retrieval of the electronic documentation.
LUXOFT's solution reduced system response time from tens of seconds down to an instant. The web-services applications also allowed the bank to eliminate hard copy document flow.
