Project Title: Eagle

The Challenge

Eagle Investment Systems develops and deploys corporate information systems for financial market customers. There are about 250 employees on the staff, including technical experts and business analysts. From time to time the company requires additional resources for such work as testing of web portals, administering of financial portal installation packages and of information servers, etc. Eagle Investment Systems routinely uses several outsourcing partners for such jobs. But due to increased workload and considerations of cost-effectiveness the company needed additional offshore facilities for its outsourcing needs.

The Solution

The first function that Eagle Investment Systems outsourced to ContekSoft in autumn 2000 was testing of the company's web portal. The project lasted for half a year, and by the end of this period the number of bug reports received by the customer had approached one hundred. Due to the time lag, Eagle staff managed to fix bugs immediately since the reports came in during their early working hours. Additionally, the competitive hourly rates of ContekSoft allowed considerable cost saving for the customer.

In September 2001, Eagle decided to outsource one more job to Russian developers -administering of its financial portal installation packages. ContekSoft set up a dedicated team of professionals who had to work partly in the customer's time zone. In March 2002 ContekSoft also began to administer Eagle information servers.

The customer was satisfied with the high competence of ContekSoft staff and their solid understanding of the system business logic, which resulted in increased complexity of every new task assigned.

The next step was participation of ContekSoft in the development of system user interface. After 2 months of productive cooperation ContekSoft was invited to work at one of server levels of the system and later contributed to the enhancement of all system components aimed to achieve maximum running speed. The offshore team implemented several successful solutions resulting in considerable increase of data procession speed.

One of the most challenging tasks was system preparation for integration with other corporate information systems. However, the competence and experience of ContekSoft allowed successful task completion.

During its cooperation with Eagle ContekSoft participated in all stages of developing multilevel corporate financial systems and gained invaluable experience in the field.
