Project Title: Katonah: sales intelligence tool

The Challenge

E-Style Software's sales force needed a way to easily compile and search data on potential target customers, industries, and business opportunities. Standard Internet search engines clearly serve a purpose, but often do not allow for the detailed, topic-specific searches the sales group needed to carry out to be most effective when confronted with large amounts of data.

The Solution

E-Style Software built a custom application called Katonah to provide extended search functionality within a large database of news, press releases, and company information via a web interface. Katonah's Research Robot application searches a specified list of web-based publications and databases daily for new or recently modified content, parses the HTML content, extracts only relevant data, and then stores it in Katonah's data warehouse for future queries.

Salespeople can search Katonah's constantly updated database through an easy-to-use browser interface for specific topics from highly targeted sources - retrieving valuable information on new business opportunities, industry trends and key decision makers.
