The Challenge

The challenge was to participate in certification of a new Compel business unit - Centive CompCentral, - for various platforms, including Windows, Solaris and HPUX.

The Solution

Centive CompCentral – is a powerful, highly adaptable, scalable enterprise incentive management J2EE platform that is designed for organizations with sophisticated performance-based variable compensation programs. Russian engineer’s team had to become a real extention of Centive team to execute à high-quality fully tested operational product. Auriga's asset to the project included:
  • Centive application installation for various Operating Systems, Application and Database servers.
  • Troubleshooting and analysis of installation and execution Java errors
  • Development and modification of the existing configuration and installation Ant scripts.
  • Running high level verification steps
  • Development of System Test Plan and Test Specifications on basis of automated test scripts
  • Configuration Test Environment
  • Review and debugging smoke and regression test scripts
  • Running automated smoke and regression testing
  • Running manual regression testing for Centive Tools
RESULTS
Centive applications were installed, configured and tested on various hardware and software platforms.
Ant installation and configuration scripts were developed for target execution environments, Ant scripts for supported application servers were modified for different hardware platforms and application versions.
Various execution Java errors were analyzed and either fixed via configuration efforts or submitted to Centive for fixing the code.
Smoke testing was performed to ensure integrity of build assembled into different environments. Regression testing was performed to insure that there is no impact on previously tested functionality of the maintained system. All test cases had passed successfully on different test environments. Completion Criteria defined in the Test Plan as ‘All Smoke and Regression Test Cases were run’ had been achieved. Finally, Auriga QA engineers achieved unstained excellence and stability in Centive CompCentral application on different configurations, i.e. it’s certified for various specifications for operating systems, application servers and database servers.
