The ELAD Technology allows you to create and maintain electronic archives of various document sets, enterprise filing cabinets, and multimedia archives. ELAD ensures the common technology of obtaining, storing and exchanging information in single-site and multi-site configurations. ELAD can be used by large enterprises and state institutions as well as small companies that deal with large document flows.

Why You Need ELAD

The activity of your company definitely deals with a large number of documents. These documents can be of various types and formats. They also can be located in various EDMS systems.

In this situation, you start to think of an electronic archive to store your documents.

ELAD allows you to build universal archives to store documents of any type.

There are many systems allowing you to build your electronic archives, but ELAD allows you to create the archive to store documents of any types together-legal, accounting, logistic, etc.

Moreover, you can create the archives in all branches of your company and obtain data from them. Generally, you can exchange data between companies where ELAD archives are installed using .xml data exchange files.

ELAD is a toolbox allowing you to create custom document types, and create, store, and edit documents of these types.

Multi-Site Configuration

If your company has several branches, you can install ELAD archives in all of them and exchange documents.

You can use several policies of establishing information exchange. For instance, the headquarters of your company obtains documents of branches. This policy assumes powerful archive located in the headquarters containing documents of all branches of your company. Another way assumes synchronizing data of all archives involved in the information exchange.

ELAD uses .xml files to exchange data.

Access to ELAD Resources and Data

Usually, documents have different access level, and are oriented on different user groups. ELAD allows you to assign different right sets to different user groups. Moreover, ELAD allows administrator to manage user rights to ELAD resources (features, components) and data (documents).

Internet Access

One of the main advantages of ELAD is that users can view documents via Internet. User should only have a computer connected to Internet and any Web-browser installed.

Internet-user can:

• Find documents by attributes and text fragments

• Save local copies of archive documents in the .html files

ELAD Services

FORS Holding Ltd. permanently extends a set of ELAD services. Thus, ELAD Technology increases a number of certain solutions to be applied. For instance, integrating the ELAD eMail Service allows you to create a FAQ, Knowledge Base, User Request, or User Support archive. Integrating the ELAD Billing Service allows you to support the activity of an Internet content provider.

Architecture

ELAD has the three-tier architecture, and was developed in the JavaTM2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). Three-tier architecture is used to develop object-oriented Enterprise level applications. J2EE provides transaction management, security, and database access. ELAD does not use a certain database type as a source. It is easy scalable and can be porte on any platform supporting Java engine. The architecture of an ELAD archive is shown on the figure below.
