The Challenge

The solution was designed to receive customer online orders from various eCommerce systems, start 3D printing and track orders statuses throughout the process of printing. The biggest business challenge was to assign clients’ 3D print orders with their records. The key technological challenge was to integrate the application into the present Z Corporation infrastructure.

The Solution

Z Corporation Print and Order Management application is aimed at processing and management of customer order data for 3D Prints throughout the entire transaction from online registration till the 3D Print is shipped to the customer. The solution is ASP.NET-based with the use of ASP.NET AJAX and SQL Server Reporting Services. The richly functional interface follows Z Corporation corporate identity and standards.

The solution maintains excellent relationships between 3D prints in process and the customer track record to which the 3D print is attributed. The software provides timely and accurate data for accounting regarding billable revenue, completed shipments and splits between the product and shipping revenue. Also, it provides transparent time and production management, in particular it tracks total time to manufacture, overall performance of the production system, time on each step and total control over time.

Key features:
  • Tracking of real time status from order reception to its shipping to the customer;
  • Load optimization of 3D Printer minimizes operational cost;
  • Integration with eCommerce systems via XML protocol;
  • Integration with delivery and shipping software at the database level;
  • Build-in scheduler for workflow automation;
  • Next generation interface with AJAX components.
