Project Title: Modem bundle including V22/V32/V22bis/V32bis as well as V.42, V.42bis and V.14
The Challenge
One of the major challenges of the project was to provide not just a bare set of algorithms, but a complete modem solution with separate modem and telephony signaling algorithms wrapped into a framework complete with telephony script machine, drivers, AT parser and memory allocation service. This framework was delivered in the form of C source code open for modification by MICOME, and supplemented by a detailed document describing the internals of the framework.During the whole project implementation frame SPIRIT's experts provided extensive support for the client, including consulting, comprehensive documentation, help with the integration and testing, both off-site and on-site.
The Solution
SPIRIT's Data Modem includes ITU-T V.22, V.22bis, V.32, and V32bis modem standards and is used to transmit data at rates up to 14.4 kbps. SPIRIT's V.42 algorithm conforms to ITU-T V.42 error correction protocol that uses LAP-M. SPIRIT's V.42bis conforms to ITU-T V.42bis data compression protocol.Tools and Technologies
- Visual Studio
- Code Composer Studio, JTAG emulators, C54x evaluation boards
- Matlab
- Mathcad
- Proprietary simulation tools
- Phone line simulators
