Project Title: Fax and Document Processing and Delivery Systems

The Challenge

The two leading Equisys projects – Zetafax and Zetadocs – help create, deliver and share electronic documents, work interactively on-screen, or link it to business software and cut paper use, saving time and money.

Equisys has its own development team in London, UK and collaboration with Itransition in 2005 was their first outsourcing experience. After several successful projects they contracted to work with Itransition, which enhanced their products functionality and implemented new versions of their high quality solutions.

The Solution

Both Zetafax and Zetadocs are box-type Windows Desktop solutions which are to be installed by end users. This imposes additional requirements on installation, user interface, help systems and their quality.

Zetafax is the market leading fax server software which is a reliable way of integrating fax with IT systems to increase the effectiveness of business communication. It integrates with ERP, CRM, accounting and other applications for automated faxing of those systems, providing auditable records of fax communications.

Zetadocs automates the production of business documents from CRM, ERP, accounting and other business software, streamlining the process. It helps users work smarter by removing tedious manual procedures, and help companies improve the service levels they offer.

Collaboration with Itransition started in February 2005 with two small projects Fax Broadcast and Annotation Control, which are currently parts of the big Zetafax project. Equisys has additionally asked Itransition for separate QA services for Zetadocs PDF project.

We started with a small team of two developers and fixed price projects (for both Itransition QA and development services). After those projects had proved effective they trusted our partnership and the professionalism of our people. Equisys then established a new team onsite with one Project Manager, 5 developers, and 2 QA Engineers.

The Itransition’s mission was to conform to the high quality of Zetafax and Zetadocs products while adding new features. That was a challenge, taking into consideration that the old extensive Zetafax project had a 10 year-old-history.

Itransition has developed a special process of careful change tracking for Zetafax project that allows to continuously provide high quality of service. With the help of Itransition, Equisys Company successfully released Zetafax v10 SP1 and Zetadocs 3.0 products in short timelines.
