Project Title: Power Steering Software
The Challenge
Power Steering Software, Inc. (former Cambridge Interactive) looked for talents that would become a part of development team working on their project management and collaboration software. Based in Cambridge, MA, USA, the company drew its attention to Russian market of resources. Their major requirements were strong knowledge and wide experience in object-oriented design and programming, ability to work in distributed team, professional skills in SQL and Java programming, capabilities to solve different design and programming tasks, good communication skills.The Solution
SoftDev provided a team of three persons to Power Steering in April 2000. SoftDev team quickly grasped architecture concepts, development requirements and performed a number of different tasks. After reviewing the first tasks Power Steering expanded the team and gave the ability to design and develop larger features without direct involvement of Power Steering team.Results: SoftDev has been performing the most of all development tasks for last three years. This allowed Power Steering team to reduce expenses on development and to concentrate on sales and new product features. As a result Power Steering increased sales and added more new features to the product that increased its competitive strength.
