Project Title: Karaoke Player for Pocket PCs and J2ME Mobile Phones
The Challenge
Our customer, producing MP3 and MIDI karaoke music files for PCs, wanted to enter new competitive areas in the market and sell music to PDA and J2ME mobile phone users. The company already had a Karaoke Player for J2ME mobile phones delivered by an outsourcing company, but the existing solution could only be applied to a few Java-enabled mobile phones. SongGalaxy decided to supply users with custom music software, and extend the functionality of the solution for J2ME mobile phones that had been worked out earlier. The Solution
Axmor Software experts first built an easy-to-use application for playing karaoke files on PDAs. The system allows users to see lyrics shown in sync with the music playing at the moment. Additionally, the program provides users with a whole set of extra features, such as setting up the font, etc.The work done by Axmor was highly appreciated by the customer, and our specialists passed over to porting the product to J2ME platform. The major problem they had to face was that various J2ME mobile phones have differences in multimedia API implementation. Using their profound knowledge of mobile technologies, Axmor engineers created an advanced solution to the problem. They allowed lyrics to be shown in sync with the music on the screen of all targeted mobile phones: Nokia 3650/6600, Nokia N'Gage, Motorola v300/ v400/v 500/ v 600. The application functionality was extended as well. The task was effectively and creatively accomplished in a timely manner, and our customer was ready to provide the market with the new advanced product.
