Project Title: EPAM Helps Wiggle Implement Strategic Collect+ Delivery Option to Provide Shipping Diversity and Encourage Higher Conversion Rates

The Challenge

Wiggle was looking to diversify available delivery options by adding Collect+ to standard postal delivery. This would give their UK-based customers the opportunity to collect their orders rather than have it delivered to an address, preventing shipping issues and enhancing customer experience.

To implement this strategic delivery option, Wiggle invited a team of EPAM’s professionals whose mission was to extend Wiggle’s existing online ordering system to support a new delivery method.

The Solution

It took less than 2 months for EPAM’s team of developers, QA, and business analyst to finish implementation. During this 4-sprint project, the team has applied changes to all architectural levels:

• The external website was updated with the new user interface for Collect+ delivery method
  
• The order management system was updated to handle Collect+ orders
  
• The warehouse management system was updated to put Collect+ orders into the processing workflow
  
• Delivery service was updated to send Collect+ order information to the third-party delivery provider
  
• Mail notification service was updated to send Collect+ information to customers

The Results

The project was successfully completed within the shortest time due to actively employed Agile and Scrum practices, the team’s good communication skills, and EPAM’s proven expertise in Microsoft technologies.

With the brand new delivery option available to UK customers, Wiggle gained a competitive advantage in providing highly tailored customer services. The company introduced Collect+ Delivery on terms similar to Priority 1st Class delivery ensuring the order is available for collection at the nearest point within 2 working days from day of dispatch with the possibility of order tracking.
