The Challenge

A leading aviation information distribution company needed to re-engineer a key desktop application used to build aircraft flight corridors and to analyze flight safety within these corridors.

Many factors led to the need for updating the application, including an outdated geographic information system (GIS) platform and programming language, users pushing for enhanced functionality, security measures that did not meet Defense Department standards, making it impossible to bid for Defense Department contracts, the need to add Web services, improved performance and an outdated and inefficient database system.

The Solution

LUXOFT built a reliable, flexible, secure and powerful web-enabled application meeting Defense Department standards for secure data processing. The company can now bid on Defense Department contracts.

The product's improved performance and functionality has led to greater popularity among customers. Obstacle analysis is accomplished three times faster while the new architecture provides users with web-based services.
