After several years of effort and thirteen successful Russian-American Technology Seminars with the U.S. Department of State, the Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council is proud to launch the Inaugural Russian-American Innovation Technology Week in the Mid-Atlantic States. Russian-American Innovation Technology Week will feature seminars, panel discussions, meetings, a trade show and conference, vendor displays, networking events, and personal meeting opportunities designed to bring together entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and established corporations within the technology communities of both the United States and the Former Soviet Union. Representatives of American companies will have the opportunity to meet delegation members and discuss potential business partnerships. Official Russian Regional Delegations will be representing several high-tech regions of Russia. Over one hundred technological companies from Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan will also be participating in the Partnership for Prosperity and Security Exhibition and Conference on November 5-6th. Following the events of Russian-American Innovation Technology Week, some delegates will participate in several high-tech conferences and trade shows in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Innovation Technology Week Events will include:
  • November 3-4, 2003: Opening Reception for Russian-American Innovation Technology Week, Philadelphia. Visit to the University City Science Center, Philadelphia.
  • November 5-6: Partnership for Prosperity and Security Exhibition and Conference, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.
  • November 7: Delegation Trips to Harrisburg, PA and Wilmington, DE.
Delegates will also participate in the following events:
  • November 12-13: ITEC Trade Show and Conference, Valley Forge Convention Center, King of Prussia, PA.
  • November 13: Enterprise Award, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.
  • November 17-19: Mid-Atlantic Venture Conference, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.
  • November 30 - December 3: United Nations Forum--Science and Technology Parks for New and Emerging Technology for Sustainable Development, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.
  • December 2-3: Philadelphia Tech Congress, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.
The first-ever Russian-American Innovation Technology Week is the most significant Russian-American technology event in the Mid-Atlantic region in 2003. The Partnership for Prosperity and Security Exhibition and Conference, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, is the first major Russian-American trade show since 1994. The Russian-American Innovation Technology Week program has received the support and participation of the Federal Governments of the United States and the Russian Federation as well as state and regional governments.

Program Objectives:
  • To offer opportunities to assist the U.S. technology industries in developing successful ventures in the Russian technology market.
  • To provide American companies and organizations considering business in Russia the opportunity to meet with more than one hundred government officials and executives representing the leading high-tech Russian companies.
  • To present several hundred Russian technology projects and to detail their potential commercial applications.
  • To offer panels on new initiatives and hot topics in the Russian technology industries, presentations showcasing Russian technology projects, opportunities for immediate commercial involvement, explorations of current business opportunities in specific industry sectors, and vendor displays by Russian-American companies.
  • To attract the best technology companies of Russia and the Former Soviet Union to the Mid-Atlantic States on an annual basis, and to ensure the leading role of the Mid-Atlantic States in Russian-American technology partnerships. The program will help to further develop the Mid-Atlantic Region as a major player in the field of international technology.
  • To play a role in attracting the best Russian technology companies to establish a presence in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Program Participants: Participants will come from Russia and from countries of the former Soviet Union. Regional Delegations will represent technology-oriented Regions of the Russian Federation. Over one hundred technological companies from Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan have been selected to participate and to present their projects at conferences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region during the Program.

American participants include technological companies, organizations, and research institutions from across the United States, with emphasis on the Mid-Atlantic region, that are interested in exploring business opportunities in Russia and the Former Soviet Union.

Program Organizers: Russian-American Innovation Technology Week is coordinated by the Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council in partnership with Innovation Philadelphia and other Mid-Atlantic international organizations. The Opening Reception is organized in cooperation with Pennsylvania Ambassadors. The Partnership for Prosperity and Security Exhibition and Conference is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and produced by the U.S. Industry Coalition in partnership with the Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council.
