InfoWatch is a group of innovative technology companies focused on developing and providing comprehensive cutting-edge technologies and services dedicated to data loss prevention and protection, intellectual property protection as well as risk management and compliance solutions.
The More than 900 IT and information security professionals from 800 organizations that were interviewed for the InfoWatch study, however, believe that any employee with access to valuable information poses a threat in terms of possible data leaks.
According to the survey, 77.6 percent of managers and 85 percent of IT and IS services specialists stated that the main danger to their employer’s business is related to internal threats, namely the leaking of restricted information and the disloyal or criminal behavior of employees. Respondents also expressed uncertainty about the reliability of information security systems at their companies and noted a lack of funding for IS.
InfoWatch analysts believe that the types of data flowing out of a company are often directly related to the scope of the organization, rather than its size. Information leakage and the criminal use of corporate information is equally applicable to both large- and medium-sized companies.
"We see that the vertical threat landscape in large- and medium-sized companies are virtually identical. Perhaps medium-sized business will soon become a point of growth for the entire information security market," said Natalya Kaspersky, CEO of InfoWatch.
