French Service Provider Delivers Videoconferencing SAAS Based on VideoMost
Aug 24, 2014
Spirit DSP, the world’s top provider of voice and video over IP engines to over 1 billion users in over 100 countries, announced today that Option Service Telecom, a French alternative operator that posses deep expertise in communication infrastructure and telecom networks, has licensed the company’s multi-point HD web video conferencing software VideoMost, begun SAAS delivery and signed first customers.
Option Service Telecom’s cloud web video conferencing service targets the French healthcare industry. VideoMost will be used in such activities as daily staff meetings, consultations, remote communications with colleagues from other clinics, remote appointments for patients and by interns to observe the treatment process.
"We are pleased to start using VideoMost software in our service to connect up to 50 interactive video participants in every conference room," said CEO of Option Service Telecom Philippe Laredo. "Our clients appreciated the reliable HD quality in multi-point video conferencing and collaboration tools including document sharing."
"VideoMost is software video conferencing platform designed for telcos and service providers like Option Service Telecom," said Spirit’s VP of Sales Alexander Kravchenko. "It enables high-margin business models for service providers on commodity and inexpensive PC servers, without the need to deploy and maintain expensive MCU-based transcoding solutions."
VideoMost is an award-winning multipoint web-based videoconferencing software-only product, enabling telecom carriers, enterprises and service and SaaS providers to deliver self-branded videoconferencing from the cloud or with on-premise installation. The VideoMost software server supports 1,000 concurrent video channels per PC hardware server, dramatically cutting down service providers’ costs for hardware server infrastructure. VideoMost requires only Internet access, a webcam, a microphone or headset to participate and no registration, allowing participants anywhere to start a videoconference instantly on their PCs, Macs and iPads. It also includes corporate controls with single authorization and corporate contact lists, desktop/file sharing, recording and messaging capabilities, LDAP support, emails and calendar integration and SIP support for legacy videoconferencing endpoints.
