Russian Wins Android App Contest

Gvidi, created by the Russian company Vay2Geo (AlterGeo) won in the "Best Idea" category at the Tactrick Android DevCup 2013, according to contest organizers, RIA Novosti reports.
The competition, which was held from Apr. 22 to 29, received 312 applications from 28 countries.
AlterGeo’s Gvidi is an intelligent guide to cafes, bars and restaurants. It provides "smart" search and select functionality of eateries based on a person’s individual tastes and offers users recommendations by accessing their personal preferences. Gvidi also allows for reservations through its internal booking system.
Gvidi has been available for use on Apple’s iOS platform since November 2012 and has been featured in the Russian App Store by the editorial staff in the New & Noteworthy, On the Town, Dining Out and other categories.
The prize for winning the competition is the development and promotion of the application’s Android version by Tactrick.
Tactrick Mobile Solutions is registered in the British Virgin Islands and was founded in 2012 by Russian investors. The company focuses on advertising within mobile applications and the publication of games for the Android platform.
Tactrick Android DevCup was held for the first time in 2013.
