The third annual U.S.-Russia Technology Symposium at Stanford University will take place on February 9-10, 2006, in Palo Alto, California.

The Symposium is the premiere investor conference on the Russian technology and emerging growth sectors.

Former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry and Russian Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko will reprise their roles as co-chairs of the Symposium. The Symposium is produced in partnership with the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University, and supported by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Russian Federation, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian software development association RUSSOFT, and Russian IT marketing agency Fort-Ross.

Speakers at previous Symposia include venture capitalists Brook Byers, Patricia Cloherty, Kirill Dmitriev, Robert Grady, Pierre Lamond, Pitch Johnson, Heidi Roizen, and Don Valentine; CNET Networks editor-at-large Esther Dyson; Cadence Design Systems executive chairman Ray Bingham; Symantec president John Schwartz; former Secretary of State George Shultz; and David Yakobashvili, chairman of Wimm-Bill-Dann, an NYSE-listed manufacturer of dairy and juice products in Russia.

Secretary Perry said, "Minister Fursenko and I once again look forward to hosting this annual event that promotes close collaboration between our two countries in the technology sector."

Periodic updates and registration information will be available on the Symposium's website, http://www.usrts.org/.
