Forum Nokia joins RUSSOFT Association
Special committee on mobile platform software development is established within the association

Forum Nokia (Nokia division supporting mobile platform software developers) was unanimously admitted to RUSSOFT (Russian association of software developing companies) during its board meeting on 27 June 2008.
During several years Forum Nokia has been actively cooperating with software developing community in Moscow and St-Petersburg, holding meetings and seminars and showing the opportunities for collaboration in creation of new software for mobile telephony.
In early June this year Forum Nokia ran its own seminar in the framework of Software Development Summit 2008 held annually by RUSSOFT in St. Petersburg, which to a great extent predetermined mutual decision to establish closer cooperation. The parties agreed to establish a committee within RUSSOFT Association that will stimulate software development for mobile devices. Forum Noikia activities will bear informative and tutorial nature and will be focused on support of software developers working with various mobile platforms and various programming languages. In the framework of the partnership Forum Nokia in cooperation with RUSSOFT plans to hold seminars and conferences on mobile platforms, to inform software developers and RUSSOFT members of business opportunities in the sphere of mobile technologies, to help RUSSOFT members to attract new partners and push the most interesting products to the international markets.
"For RUSSOFT the participation of Forum Nokia in the activities of the Association means additional opportunities for our members to directly contact the leading providers of software development platforms for mobile devices, to offer them own solutions and find methodological and technical support" – RUSSOFT President, Valentin Makarov said.
Kirill Zelensky, head of Forum Nokia in Russia and CIS pointed out: "Our world is getting more and more mobile day by day, therefore software and hardware solutions ignoring mobility become irrelevant. Nokia being the leader of mobile technologies pays a lot of attention to support of providers of software products worldwide. Our cooperation with RUSSOFT is a logical step towards expansion of Forum Nokia activities in the Russian Federation. We are glad to be able to collaborate with the Association and help Russian software developers mobilize their businesses."
