The Skolkovo Intellectual Property Center and the High Technology Techno-park in Yugra, a vast autonomous region in the Urals Federal District in Russia’s North, have inked a collaboration agreement. A reported 15 projects developed at the techno-park have already been selected to help the initiators secure intellectual property (IP) rights for their innovation, Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reports.
The first of these to have been picked for patenting and securing the intellectual property rights are the two projects focused on making improved gas meters and heated insoles. Their first prototypes and samples have already been "approved both in Russia and abroad, and there are proposals for supply contracts," ITAR-TASS reports.
Vitaly Kastalsky, the CEO of the Skolkovo Center, believes the Yugra techno-park residents will find the Center useful as the fast track for promoting their intellectual property across Russia and beyond.
The High Technology Techno-park was set up in November 2008 by the Yugra regional government in the city of Khanty-Mansiisk.
