Aplana Software at the Russian Road Show, Germany

Oct 13, 2003
The large-scale road show of leading Russian software services companies in the three industry centers of Germany - Hamburg, Munich and Berlin - will take place on the 21th-29th of October, 2003 (http://www.it-seasons.ru). This roadshow will become the successive event in the framework of Cooperation Agreement between BITKOM, a major German IT association, and RUSSOFT, the association of Russian software services providers, achieved during the German-Russia IT Symposium in Moscow last autumn. The road show will further expand the cooperation between German and Russian companies in technological area with special focus on software development.

Aplana Software, a fast growing Moscow based services company and active member of both associations, RUSSOFT and BITCOM, is planning to present during the road show its experience of cooperation with European companies and branches of global corporations such as General Electric, Tetra Pak, Wrigley, OTIS, DaimlerChrysler, VolksWagen, Raiffeisen Leasing and many others. "Over 5 years of successful cooperation with European companies and their offices in Russia allow us to propose to the German market not only strong technological and domain area competencies but also flexible business models easily adaptable to rapidly changing business environment and customer specific requirements, " - sais Vladimir Kurbatov, VP Business Development, Aplana Software, who is to be the company representative at the road show.

Current economical conditions, envoked by global recession, have brought to the first plan the issues of higher economic effectiveness and cost reduction for major European enterprises. That is why the option to use of outsourced software services to reduce IT budgets is becoming more and more attractive among leading European CIOs. According to the results of IDC European IT Forum that took place in Paris last week, European countries consider Eastern Europe by as a real alternative to existing outsourcing suppliers from India. The growing demand for outsourced IT services encourages to explore new service providers and new flexible business models of cooperation. And in contrast to the UK which is oriented to India due to their strong historical ties and to France that still prefers local vendors, Germany is probably better than other countries positioned to expand cooperation with software services suppliers from Eastern Europe and Russia.

The growing interest of German companies to cooperation with Russian software services suppliers has been heated up by multiple success stories in such areas as:
  • Launching in Russia of R&D (Research and Development) Centers and Software Development Centers by leading technology vendors and global corporations that look for Russia's potential in Mathematics and Computer Science;

  • Outsourcing of the development and maintenance of technology solutions by midsize software vendors (ISVs) who not only intend to cut development costs and accelerate product time-to-market, but also look for the opportunity to enter growing Russian ICT market;

  • Outsourcing of the development and maintenance of corporate and commercial applications by enterprises in order to optimize IT budgets and share project risks.
"We do not observe any more significant barriers for the further development of cooperation between our countries, however we rely on the support from the German authorities in creation of business conditions for effective cooperation, in particular with regards to visa support," - commented Vladimir Kurbatov at the road show presentation in the German Embassy that took place in Moscow, October 6.

Aplana Software invites interested German companies to have business meetings during the road show.
