Shipping Portal: Traffic Management System

Pilot Group LLC has finished the work under the Shipping Portal project - effective management solution, targeted to control the vehicles, engaged in produce transportation among the warehouses of the enterprise and other companies.
Our regular client ISS (USA) has contracted Pilot Group developers to complete this task. The project was purposed to automate the workplaces of the expediters and stockmen. The important problem of the project is to synchronize the dataflow on the level of several remotely situated MS SQL Servers (Remote Distribution Centers). So the project ensures the continuity of work of several enterprise warehouses, situated in various places.
The project includes two main blocks.
The first block registers the vehicles, engaged in produce and raw materials transportation according to the shipping documents. The traffic is considered with regard to warehouse and can be processed with three types of transportation: delivery from the outside warehouse, delivery from warehouse within the enterprise and shipping to an inside warehouse. The warehouse is a complex of several docks that are involved in shipping-delivery process.
The second block provides control under the data appropriateness, received when register the transport and allows managing the status of the operation with the current vehicle and warning via email about the changes of the status.
The project is executed on the level of web-server with integrated block of the access control to the application pages and to the elements on the pages.
The developed system is integrated to the active system on the enterprise. The initial data about cargo content is taken from the active system.
The solution is realized on .NET (ASP.NET, VB.NET) for MS SQL Server 2000 database.
