COMPUTEX Taipei is one of annual special events of the Global ICT industry which gathers thousands of visitors and exhibitors in June in one of the world's centers of ICT expertise. In 2009 in addition to the 5-day exhibition, the large number of ICT trend forums and product launches are part of the main activities.

RUSSOFT President Valentin Makarov took part in the Forum on How to Cooperate with Taiwan ICT Industry to Create Business Opportunities in the Emerging Markets which was co-organized by the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA). At the morning session of this forum, the organizers invited speakers from national associations of emerging markets like Russian Software Developers Association RUSSOFT, ManufactureròÀÙs Associations for Information Technology (MAIT) from India, Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERU), Chilean Association of Information Technology Companies (ACTI), Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Agency (ITDH) to interact with Taiwan's ICT industry by sharing market experiences of their respective countries so that Taiwanese manufacturers can take a closer look at the latest development trends and market opportunities of those regions.

Valentin Makarov took the floor during the session VIP Presentations on: Current Situation on ICT Industry, Market and Demands in Foreign Emerging (Markets) Countries and presented the state of IT market in Russia before and during the crisis and described the vast opportunities for cooperation with Russian ICT industry giving examples of successful projects in other countries.

The interest towards Russia is quite significant in Taiwan, he said. According to Russian Government figures more than 500 000 people from Taiwan have visited Russia during past few years. 1000 Russian scientists are working in Taiwan and about 200 Russian students are studying there.

It is very important and pleasing to hear Taiwan largest vendors representatives speaking of cooperation with Russian companies and scientists. I see solid perspectives of cooperation in this market for Russian companies, Makarov said.
