CTGroup Successfully Completed the Sales Force Automation Project for the Avondale Systems

Novosibirsk, Russia. August 27, 2004 - CTGroup successfully completed the sales force automation project for the Avondale Systems, one of the largest suppliers of new and used IT technology products in Europe.
Avondale Systems is one of the largest suppliers of new and used IT technology products in Europe. For the first 10 years Avondale sold only the Xerox products. To increase sales and survive in this highly competitive market, Avondale decided to sell IT products from as many different manufacturers as possible. However, buying many products and storing them in the warehouse would be too expensive. Avondale decided to build its operations in a more effective way. Different suppliers can have different prices for the same items. To analyze all suppliers' prices, Avondale manually downloaded prices from the suppliers' sites and imported them into Access-based program that analyzed the price-lists and determined the most favorable price and corresponding supplier. Then, the sales manager placed the order to the supplier to ship the purchased item directly to the customer. The analytical process was very time consuming and occupied all server's resources. Besides, the sales managers' communications with clients were hindered by the absence of automated working environment.
Avondale selected CTGroup Software to develop sales force automation software that would automate sales managers' daily activities and quickly and efficiently perform price analysis. CTGroup developed the analytical web-based system that works on a remote Linux web-server allocating local server resources for an execution of other important tasks. "The main challenge was to properly port the non-trivial data processing logic from the Access database to MySQL. I am pleased to formally announce that we successfully overcame the limitations of MySQL and were able to develop very efficient system that complies with all customer requirements," noted Daniel Koptsev, the project manager. The new system allows automatically and quickly download and analyze the price data. Sales managers received convenient user-friendly interface that provides all information required for a quick decision making: full access to the information on price and supplier for the requested item; price calculation including the markup, sales bonus and transaction currency (the built-in currency converter); information on previous transaction price, or the price mentioned during the previous negotiations; information on who and when ordered the given item; the comprehensive reporting system. "CTGroup have created an excellent web-based Sales tool that performs a lot of complex processing very quickly and provides us with important Sales statistics," noted Mark Flanagen, Avondale Systems Ltd representative. Installation of the analytical web-based software resulted in a more effective work of sales managers. Due to the fact that the data processing time has been dramatically reduced it became possible to perform more frequent data updates. Thus, the sales managers now have up-to-the-minute information vital for quick and effective sales activities. "The CTGroup's application enabled Avondale to significantly increase sales to existing customers and has helped to attract numerous new customers," noted Mark Flanagan. More effective work of sales managers also substantially increased customer satisfaction.
