Russia and China will establish a center of innovative cooperation, Sputnik News cited the Russian Ministry of Economic Development as saying in a statement on Dec. 28.

"With the support of the Russian Trade Mission in China, a quadripartite agreement was signed between Corporation of Development of the Tomsk Region, Innovative Pharmacological Research (IPHAR), China International Technology Transfer Center and Huafu Medical Technology Group during Tomsk-Jiangsu congress on establishment of Russian-Chinese Center of Innovative Cooperation," the statement said, according to the report.

The center is likely to be built in Tomsk, a university town in Siberia.

Russia and China agreed to increase cooperation in research and development during Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Beijing in early December.
