MassChallenge, the world’s largest global start-up accelerator, recently announced the final list of 125 companies that will compete for over one million dollars in prize money to be awarded on October 23, 2012. Of the 1,237 applications received, only 125 finalists were selected and among them are the Russian companies CardioWave, Magru and Kernel Corp.
"We look forward to having the three Russian teams join the program, collaborate with their peers, and access the pool of resources available within the community."
MassChallenge offers startups the opportunity to compete on the global stage. Representing Russia, a country pivoting towards a more modern, innovation-driven economy, RVC-USA became a platinum sponsor of MassChallenge 2012 to help both Russian and American startups access the international resources available to them. In addition to serving as a platinum sponsor, RVC-USA will be sponsoring room and board for the selected Russian teams participating in the three-month accelerator program.
"We are excited to see a significant increase in both the quantity and quality of Russian startups that applied this year," said Scott Bailey, Director of Partnerships, MassChallenge. "We look forward to having the three Russian teams join the program, collaborate with their peers, and access the pool of resources available within the community."
RVC-USA is confident that the economic relationship between Russia and US will increase as a direct result of the exposing the strong talent and technology of the Russian workforce.
"The global reach of MassChallenge startups proves the importance of international collaboration," said Axel Tillmann, CEO of RVC-USA. "We are honored to assist in connecting this amalgamation of entrepreneurs to global resources that both Boston and MassChallenge provide."
