BITKOM (major Association of IT businesses from Germany) and Deutsche Messe have decided to inaugurate Russia with the Status of the "Partner Country" for the year 2007. According to RUSSOFT (National Software Development Association), that very fact may be considered as the main achievement of the Russian IT industry in CeBIT Hanover 2006.
Organization of larger and coordinated National representation at CeBIT, including three Russian collective pavilions (Science and R&D in Halls 6, IT services in Hall 8 and telecommunications in Hall 12), coupled with the Russian "Road-Map" and Joint catalogue of about all Russian participating companies – are considered as another strong achievement of Russian participation in CeBIT.

This year will be printed in the History of Russian IT as the year of critical changes in the Russian-German relations in the IT-sphere. The leading German IT Association BITKOM and organizer of world leading IT exhibition Deutsche Messe proclaimed Russia as the "Partner Country" for the next year.
That move towards each other being done by Russia and Germany has been obviously demonstrated at the annual Russian-German IT-Forum that RUSSOFT and BITKOM traditionally organize at CEBIT.
For the first time Russia was presented by a high ranked State representative (Oleg Bjakhov from the Ministry of IT& Communications) who has impressed the audience by his English and by understanding of situation.

His speech was coupled with presentations of BITKOM Board member Mr. Ulrich Dietz and of RUSSOFT president Mr. Valentin Makarov.

Growing opportunities for cooperation have been presented and then followed by presentations of success stories. The list of German names who have demonstrated case studies was really unprecedented: Siemens, T-Mobile, T-Systems and many others.

Over 150 participants enjoyed atmosphere of success and mutual understanding. Speeches have been mixed with match-making series where every Russian guest has had a number of visitors from the German firms.
"I consider the present situation in Russian-German IT-cooperation as extremely positive", said Valentin Makarov, president of RUSSOFT. "Strategic partnership between two countries seams to be very logic. Europe and Russia may form a balanced construction where both sides play their own roles and the whole community enjoys stability and prosperity".

The growth of Russian IT industry and strength of cooperation with international market has been confirmed by number of Russian companies participated at CeBIT 2006. 86 Russian market players presented their products, solutions and services there.

Two collective pavilions have been organized by Association RUSSOFT on behalf of the Russian Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications. The marketing and technical support to pavilions was provided by leading Russian IT marketing agency Fort-Ross.

This year, IT-Russia’s show was presented under the unified brand Russia@CeBIT with a special Russian Roadmap uniting two collective large pavilions (RUSSOFT PAVILION, hall 8, # C 08 and RUSTELCO PAVILION, hall 12, # C 82) and about 70 separate booths of Russian IT companies (ABBYY, Kaspersky Laboratory, Speech Technology Center and others). This demonstrates that Russian IT software and services industry are a good fit for European markets, which have been responding positively to their products and services.
RUSTELCO PAVILION was organized for the first time and united companies providing telecommunications services in the Russian Federation. Six companies - leaders of the market, presented achievements of Russian telecom: ALS&TEC LTD, JSC GIPROSVYZ, Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug –Yugra, OJSC "Rostelecom", The Russian Satelite Communications Company (RSCC), Open Technologies. The stand measures 200 sq m.

RUSSOFT PAVILION has already had its own history in CeBIT. It began its history in 2001 as Fort Ross PAVILION with 20 sq m and 14 Russian companies. Then it had been growing year on year up to 200 sq m and 28 companies from Russia,
